My name is Aimee Burns and I am the owner and sole therapist at Studio East. After working in the beauty industry for over 7 years I decided it was time to start my own business in 2020! I knew from day one that my dream was to create a space that offered the highest quality services in a relaxed and welcoming environment. I now work from my home salon in Edinburgh City Centre specialising in luxury manicures and advanced waxing.

My Space
I am based in Edinburgh City Centre and work from home. Please also note I work from a first floor tenement flat with no lift access.

A confirmation email will be sent after booking which contains my full address. Please scroll to the bottom of the email to find it along with some extra information.
Due to limited waiting space I ask that you come as close to your appointment time as possible and no earlier.

Policies
Cancellation Policy
I fully understand that unforeseen circumstances can cause last minute changes to plans, however, as a small business I do have a strict cancellation policy. I have a 48 hour cancellation period. There will be a 50% fee to cancel within 48 hours. There is a 100% no show fee. This 100% no-show fee also applies to cancellations made on the day of appointment.
Nail Removal
If you have had nails applied by another salon please have them removed before your appointment. Unfortunately, I do not remove other technician’s work as I cannot be sure what has been used. I also do not know the condition of the nail underneath. If the nail is in bad health I would not be able to reapply gel.
Removals are free when gel was applied at Studio East and is getting reapplied the same day. There is a charge if nails are getting removed and not reapplied.
Waxing & Skincare
Skincare is becoming increasingly more popular and it is crucial that you notify me if you are using any of the following products:
AHA or BHA Products
HA/PA products
Retinols
Glycolic acid exfoliators
Certain antibiotics
These products cause the skin to thin which can then result in skin lifting / tearing when the wax is removed. Please do not use any of these products for AT LEAST 2 WEEKS before waxing treatments. To ensure the upmost care for your skin, your appointment may be subject to change if you are using any of the above products.
If you are on Roaccutane, unfortunately, you cannot have any waxing treatments. You must also wait 3 months after finishing the course before waxing again.
I want to keep my clients as safe as possible so it is crucial that you communicate any changes in your skincare routine. I will always double check before your treatment.
Intimate waxing
Clients must be 16+
Please leave your hair at least two weeks before your first waxing appointment. If the hair is too short your results may not be as expected or your treatment may be subject to change.
Body Waxing
Clients under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please leave your hair to grow at least three weeks for leg waxing. To optimise your results, it is useful to exfoliate and moisturise on the lead up to your appointment.
My policies are in place to ensure I offer you the safest treatment possible. If you have any questions or queries regarding the above information please do not hesitate to contact me via email.
Bookings
Please be aware that my diary is extremely busy and often books up 4 - 6 weeks at any time — booking in advanced is always advised. My booking system is open 3 months in advance, however, as I work alone, appointments may be subject to change due to annual leave. I will always try and give as much notice possible and accomdate rescheduling. All bookings are done via Fresha or Instagram.
